Canton Twp Vol Fire Co. and Relief Assoc #1 went active in 1976 with around 70 members, who all ran
out of one station on Weirich Ave. It was chartered on Nov 12, 1956 with 8 charter members. In 1979 the township
erected a second station on the other side of the township to house additional trucks and manpower. On March 25th 1992,
Canton Twp Vol fire Co and Relief Assoc #1 amended the charter to seperate the Relief Assoc from the Company, and it is now
known as Canton Twp Vol Fire Co and Rescue Squad.
At the present time, we have 29 fire fighters, 2 jr fire fighters, 4 fire police, 10 social members,
and 1 German Sheppard whom we adopted as our mascot.
